SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Machine Operator operates and adjusts a variety of machines including multislide, fourslide, and vertical forming machines to perform close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Usually work is of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Work with minimal supervision from drawings, specifications, and job instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including optical comparators. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

· Operates and adjusts extrusion machine to form, bend and punch a variety of work
· Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
· Use caliper, micrometer, comparator & other measuring equipment
· Sorting and packaging parts
· Verify quantity & quality of material
· Complete & maintain all required paperwork
· Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards
· Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations
· Other duties as assigned or required
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
· Highly motivated self starter
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Requires 6-12 months of relevant manufacturing experience
· Good math skills
· Basic blueprint reading, reading, & writing skills
· Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable
· Strong attention to detail
· Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch or pull objects, tools, or controls
· Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perception
· Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, & bend
· Maintains a safe and clean work environment
· Ability to work overtime when required
