Brake Press Set-up/Operator - 1st & 2nd Shift (18482)

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Brake Press Setup/Operator sets-up and operates brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

· Set-up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press to form, bend and punch a variety of work

· Set-up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle and radii

· Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates

· Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges

· Sorting and packaging parts

· Verify quantity & quality of material

· Moves raw material to and from production areas as necessary

· Operates overhead crane while moving product

· Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct

· Other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

· Good math skills; Basic reading & writing skills

· Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable

· Strong attention to detail

· Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls

· Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perception

· Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

· Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

· Ability to work overtime when required
