The Warehouse and Distribution Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations of departments including receiving, storing, and shipping goods, supporting inventory accuracy, arranging inbound and outbound logistics, fulfilling customer orders, optimizing product flow, and managing teams.
The Supervisor will work closely with the Supply Chain, Planning, and Assembly teams to meet all daily requirements and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day Shipping/warehouse activities, pick & pack, material handlers, inventory, and organization of the warehouse
Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Participate in and conduct forklift training and safe utilization of equipment
Directly work with employees and supervisors to manage activities of teams on multiple shifts to reach daily goals
Coordinate with third-party warehouses and vendors
Partner with Planner/Expeditors to execute shipping and related administrative responsibilities
Establishes operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Conduct cycle counts and tracks inventory regularly
Problem-solve errors to establish root causes and countermeasures
Confer with department heads to ensure the coordination of warehouse activities (i.e., production, sales, records control, and purchasing; deals with vendors)
Participate in hiring process and helps train warehouse personnel and issues work assignments
Compile, analyze, and report on aspects of obtaining, maintaining, and distributing inventories
May be required to flex hours to support all areas of the business
Requirements
BA or equivalent experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, and/or logistics environment that included pick-and-pack and fulfillment enterprises
3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume warehouse and distribution environment
Experience shipping and/or receiving domestic and international orders
Experience operating manufacturing equipment such as sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet riders, and manual and/or electric pallet jacks
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
Able to establish/maintain solid working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
Basic knowledge of worker’s compensation and insurance (property & casualty, equipment, etc.)
