Production Supervisor - Assembly Operations (20987)

The Production Supervisor will directly supervise department/teams and carry out supervisory responsibilities following policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, training, and hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing team issues, and upholding safety and quality guidelines.

 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review production orders/schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.  
  • Plans production operations by establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
  • Ensure successful team operations by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring
  • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain staff by selecting and training team members and developing growth opportunities
  • Work with other departments to ensure production goals are met
  • Monitoring assembly process, equipment, and personnel
  • Implement cost reductions and develop reporting procedures and systems
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices
  • Engages in 5S ("Sort", "Set In order", "Shine", "Standardize" and "Sustain”) activities
  • Ensure timecard accuracy for department team members through the company payroll system 
  • Navigate staffing shortages with the plant leadership team
  • Manages multiple production areas to help cover when other leadership is unavailable
Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing people and teams in a manufacturing or distribution environment and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize and evaluate programs, records, and documents
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to develop and implement effective staff training procedures
  • Ability to hold others accountable to standards and expectations
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and colleagues
  • Promote safety and housekeeping policies and guidelines, including associate education and employee empowerment 
  • Ability to effectively communicate through department and one-on-one meetings. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • LEAN experience preferred
