EHS Manager / Safety Coordinator (Environmental/Mining)

Position Summary
Our client has an opportunity for an experienced EH&S Coordinator for its expanding Wisconsin operations.  The individual should have at least 3 years of experience managing Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and site safety programs for Surface Mining or Industrial Manufacturing operations.

  • Coordinate site specific Environmental Programs and track permitting requirements for Air Quality and Water Quality programs.
  • Conduct Quarterly Industrial Hygiene surveys at both MSHA and OSHA regulated facilities.
  • Conduct site specific noise surveys and coordinate the installation of required signage.
  • Conduct site specific training for SPCC plans.
  • Conduct monthly site specific Environmental and Safety audits.
  • Keeps current with regard to technical and regulatory issues for State and Federal Environmental Programs.
  • Manage site specific Environmental Contractors activities including the maintenance of site specific BMP’s for storm water and process water management.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Safety Director. 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coordinating Environmental Programs and conducting Industrial Hygiene assessments.
  • Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA safety compliance is a huge plus
  • Experience performing Safety and Environmental audits
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with company and regulatory personnel
  • Strong leadership skills; possess the ability to lead by example, manage, mentor and coach; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety and environmental compliance
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends and nights, travel between several locations where necessary
