Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Racine, WI

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under general supervision, provide electrical, mechanical, and electronic engineering expertise to develop and launch new power control and related products, and advancements to existing products.
 
SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS
  • Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical design, including schematic capture and printed wiring board layout, using the latest computerized tools.
  • Assist with prototyping and testing for product development, agency certification, and quality assurance.
  • Assist manufacturing with new product launch, including assembly training and development of custom production test equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing with quality assurance issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BSEE from accredited college or university.
  • 10 years direct applied commercial product design experience in residential/commercial/industrial electromechanical power control technology, including design of electrical control and switching products in excess of 120 VAC and 100 amperes.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Windows-based computers and applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks according to written guidance along with excellent technical English verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve in a self-motivated environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES
  • Familiarity with Solidworks.
  • Training in quality assurance
  • Training in design of experiments
  • Training in product reliability, and/or statistical methods
  • Commercial experience conducting high-power and/or short-circuit testing.
  • Commercial experience using Eagle schematic capture and board layout software.
  • Commercial experience using Rocky Mountain BASIC instrument control software.
  • Commercial experience performing quality assurance inspection of electrical and mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code.
  • Familiarity with Underwriters Laboratories standards and processes.
