Staff Engineer

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the conceptual development, mathematical analysis, detailed design, and overall performance of various industrial projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software/ equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Design for manufacturability, develop and prototype products
  • Program gateway machines for 2-dimensional cutting
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects as necessary
  • Coordinate with other Engineering staff as necessary
  • Use standard and advanced technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, processes, and best practices in field
  • Investigate, determine, and analyze design requirements; then conceptualize, develop, and implement overall optimized solutions
  • Establish test criteria, participate in testing, analyze data to identify performance characteristics, and create solutions to improve performance, reliability, operation and cost
  • Responsible for the on-time completion of projects
  • Generates technical documentation
Education and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable experience
  • Strong time management and product development skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is a required.
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving skills, and be able to multitask on a variety of projects
  • Be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing OR Six Sigma methodologies a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of metal fabrication and welding techniques a plus
