Responsibilities

• Manage the new customer requests and analyze electrical, mechanical, and application conditions to develop recommendations to meet customer needs.
• Analyze customer request and search in our database for existing parts.
• Design of mechanical components and systems and provide inputs to concerns to design custom products.
• Provide workload to drafting department for designs.
• Design for manufacturability, and cost effectiveness to help us to be competitive
• Help reduce the time required in design phase while matching input to output.
• Work closely with drafting department for accurate review and approve drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Improve old designs for design and manufacturing improvements.
• Present designs of product to the customers and sales representatives.
• Streamline existing products database to ensure efficient selection of optimum design.
• Initiate and lead design review meetings, when necessary.
• Coordinate upstream and downstream, work closely with other Engineering concerns, customer service and manufacturing.
• Initiate and process Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as needed.
• Ensure accurate and manufacturable product designs are created and reviewed before being released to production.
• Review processes and procedures for continuous improvement to increase overall productivity.
• Represent Engineering, and resolve issues in positive manner with clear communication.
• Visit customers (mostly domestic) for Application Engineering and product support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ISO procedures.

Ideal Qualifications

Associates or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is ideal)

5-10 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
