Welder - 1st Shift (159402)

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires work on very large heat exchangers from low to very high pressures, as well as smaller units in a variety of materials and processes. The units are highly engineered to very specific requirements and stringent inspection. Some field activities may be requested at times. To fit and weld ASME pressure vessels per drawings:

• Will report to fabrication shop foreman
• Will be required to be approved by the ATF as an employee possessor
• Knowledge of and experience with TIG and FCAW welding. SAW a plus.
• Able to pass 6G open TIG root on heavy pipe weld test
• Will need to grind and cut as required • Will need to be able to read drawings
• Will provide QC reports as required to the QC manager
• Will get OSHA 10 card
• Will be involved in other special projects and support occasional field operations
• Knowledge of other welding procedures with variety of materials.
• Knowledge of machinery, tooling, and equipment important as this position requires an ability to solve problems while working in a small or large crew situation
• Some computer skills in Word and Excel are also important
• Will need the ability to organize materials and tooling.
• Valid driver’s license and approval of Clien insurance for driving company vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Will need the ability to organize materials and tooling.
• Experience in welding out of position and subject to a high level of inspection such as X-Ray and phased array UT.
• Will need the ability to organize materials and tooling.
• Knowledge of ASME Welding and ASNT is helpful.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in a Fabrication Shop environment.
• Able to train less skilled technicians.
• Quick thinking and adaptive responses in a small and very agile, technical, international, and growth business.
• An ability to communicate with the field, machine shop and engineering ,when issues and operational concerns arise.
• Able to read technical specifications and drawings.
