Process Technician - 3rd Shift (18410)

Two opportunities available:
- 3rd Shift (11pm - 7pm)
- 12-hour Night Shift (7pm - 7am), 10-day rotational schedule

The Process Technician is responsible for installing molds into injection molding machines as well as setting up all related auxiliary equipment. The Process Technician is also required to start up, make necessary process adjustments, and troubleshoot production runs while ensuring that they are running within specified parameters. This position also entails performing quality checks on parts that are being produced and documenting the findings. 

Essential Functions:

  • Complete all mold changeovers including setting up and loading proper process parameters to establish quality parts for production and to achieve first piece acceptance.
  • Maintain process parameters within specified limits.
  • Assist in developing process capability changes to improve quality and reduce scrap and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Start machines after mold or material changes and shut down as necessary.
  • Follow IATF16949 work instructions and procedures, as well as completing documentation.
  • Ability to train on 1st shift for the first 4-6 weeks of employment for both the 2nd & 3rd shifts

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required. 
  • Plastics experience preferred, demonstrated troubleshooting skills, mechanical skills and basic computer skills, along with knowledge of SPC principles. 
  • In lieu of experience; a candidate enrolled in a plastic molding degree program may be considered. 
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs., and stand/walk for up to 12 hours and visually inspect the product for quality. 
  • A complete set of personal hand tools with the ability to work daily overtime and weekend overtime is required.
